I fish alot from my kayak and depending on location, wind ect, different weights anchor are a needed option.
for a cheap item I use hand weights. I have a 3 and 5 lb weight that I use. I tied a carribeaner onto mine, and I usually just tie off to a cleat onto the side of the kayak.

Great idea. You can pick those up pretty cheap at garage sales or the Goodwill. I use a 11.5 ounce coffee can filled with cement and a 1/4" eyebolt.
